Total Depravity
Unconditional Election
Limited Atonement
Irresistible Grace
Perseverance of the Saints

Total depravity means that unsaved man is "...dead in trespasses and sins" and that he is walking "...according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air..." Ephesians 2:1,2

The power that reigns over an unsaved man is sin. Romans 5:21

Unsaved man is not free nor does he have a free will, he is a ..."servant of sin." John. 8:34

In God's sight everything an unsaved man does is sin. Genesis 6:5

Even when he is providing for his family:

“ ...the plowing of the wicked, is sin.” Proverbs 21:4

Because unsaved man is "...dead in trespasses and sins;" Ephesians 2:1

And" ...there is none that seeketh after God...there is none that doeth good, no, not one" Romans 3:11, 12.

God chose (elected) a people before the foundation of the world to be His own.

“According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world...Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.” Ephesians 1:4, 5

“...As many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” Acts 13:48

Those that the Father elected, the Son came into this world to save. "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21

If from eternity God planned to save one portion of the human race and not another, why would He send His Son to die for those whom He had predetermined not to save?

Christ laid down His life for His sheep; the non-elect person is a goat. Therefore His atoning work was not universal, but limited to the elect. The Lord Jesus Christ only prayed for those that the Father had given Him: "...I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me..." John17:9

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Ephesians. 2:8

The condition of men since the fall is such that if left to themselves they would continue in their state of rebellion and refuse all offers of salvation.

For this cause God the Holy Spirit compels and regenerates only those that God the Father chose and God the Son died for.

"And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23

The Lord Jesus Christ's sheep will persevere to the end:

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: And I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My and." John 10: 27 - 28

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Phillipians. 1:6 "Who are kept by the power of God through faith... " 1 Peter 1:5
